We're Marching Through
2nd Grade!

     There is lots of things going on in our second grade class this month.  It's hard to believe that we only have one quarter of second grade left.  These students have learned so much this year!  Here's what in store for March:

Communication Arts:  We are working hard at comprehending our reading at a higher level than just simple recall of facts.  In writing we are improving our ability to write a paragraph of five sentences or more. 

Math:  Currently we are working on fractions, measurement, telling time and as always, reviewing our addition and subtraction with regrouping.

Science:  We have just completed our unit on magnets.  Now it is on to learning about force and motion.  That will include learning about gravity, push, pull and some simple machines.

Social Studies: We are learning about state and national government.

Practice those math facts, both adding and subtracting.  This will help us in regrouping!

Accelerated Reading Program

3rd Quarter is almost over and quite a few of my students have already made their goals.  I'm very proud of their hard work and excellent reading!!  Many students are reading above 2nd grade level.  That is simply terrific.  Ask  your child how they are doing, they should know!!
